Maths – Number Bonds to 20
We have been exploring all the different ways we can make 20 using tens and ones. We used a range of resources from our maths choose-to-use area to practically show our number bonds to 20.
English:
English – Sidney, Stella and The Moon
Last week, we woke up to the shocking news that the moon was missing! The children were in complete disbelief and even mentioned they had watched news reports about it before school. We decided to create missing moon posters, using adjectives, in the hope of bringing the moon back. Later in the week, we began reading a new class book, where we discovered that the moon went missing because Sidney and Stella wouldn’t share a bouncy ball. The ball flew out of the window and smashed the moon into pieces!

History:
This term, we've been exploring the evolution of transport. We considered all the modes of transport we use daily and realised that our legs are a form of transport too!
We studied sea transport, starting with the first sea vessel, the pesse canoe, and compared it to the Mersey Ferry. To truly understand the difference, we decided to experience it first-hand. It was an amazing day!

Homes...
This term, we've been exploring various types of homes, examining their shapes and differences. To start, we put ourselves in the shoes of architects and designed our ideal homes. We then transformed our designs from 2D nets into 3D structures. Our creations included a mansion, castle, tent, boat, and a block of flats. We brought them to the playground and had a great time playing with our designs!
